Japanese handle profiles
For those of you who are confused by Japanese knife terminology, or format, here's some information which may help you get the general drift of things

Japanese handles are very comfortable to use and come in a few styles. They are generally useable for both right and left handed users, with even the D-Handles made for right handers, being very comfortable for left handers.
The blades are the trouble and whereas 50/50 blades are non-handed, you'll find that Japanese traditional blades are generally made for right handed users. Left handed knives are available, but will cost extra for the privilege, anywhere from a couple of dollars to 50% more.
